What to Expect

From Our Members…

“We joined McNeil four and a half years ago after moving from New Braunfels.  We had attended a very large church there and just wasn't sure the small country church was for us.  But the Word of God was being preached, which was our number one priority.  There were lots of hugs, smiles, and laughter.  And they included us in that.  We felt we were welcomed and included,  like we had been there for awhile.  We could tell this group enjoyed being together.  There was such a sweet spirit and we felt God's presence.  We felt we were home and the members were our family.  If we were even tempted to move, this church would be the reason we'd stay.”

~ Monnie & Karen Weddel

“When I was ready to resume my spiritual journey, I explored many churches within my county. I had a lot of boxes to check off on my list as to what I thought I required in a church. I wanted a thriving and active congregation spanning all ages so that my other family members would be more comfortable attending, a welcoming community that enjoyed fellowship and participation in the church, an intellectual and inclusive pre-service Bible study class, and a pastor with a graceful demeanor that can make the scripture relatable to my daily life. I found all of these at McNeil Baptist Church and after several weeks of visiting, I decided this was the place of worship I had been looking for. Pastor Tom Campbell biblically baptized me and I am so happy to get to know Christ more with my new family.”

~ Bobby Marlar

“When I came to the church for the first time and again when I announced my desire to be baptized, every member of that church was just so happy for me. I felt a genuine glee from the congregation that I was there and that I was re-focusing my life on Jesus. I could feel that they earnestly wanted that peace in my life that they have found in theirs. This congregation will not judge you. No one here is taking attendance, enforcing a dress code, or caring that you are not perfect. I  wholeheartedly believe that anyone would feel welcome and wanted from the moment they walk in the door.”

~ Kassey Baldwin

From a First-Time Visitor…

“As a first-time visitor and alone, I was a little nervous as I walked up to a new church.  However, I was immediately greeted by an engaging church member the moment I opened the doors to the church.  The church staff and the congregation made sure that I felt welcomed throughout the service.  The preaching was extremely thought-provoking, directly from the Word of God, and delivered in a manner that was easy to understand.  I will definitely visit again!”
